So, life update: Your girl got a job! My academic background is in Statistics & Data Science and after graduating last year, I eventually managed to land a job in my field. It’s always exciting to start a new position, especially as a fresh graduate. There are so many things to look forward to: meeting your coworkers, learning new skills, progressing in your career.
Being interested in fashion, I’m naturally inclined to think “...but what would I wear?” (I truly hope you get this reference). So I’ve been browsing through ideas on Pinterest, and mixing & matching pieces I already have in my closet.
I will have more posts about office/workwear later down the line, but for now I’ve been whipped up a number of outfits from my closet. I'm currently gravitating towards the color Black. Something about its sophistication and professionalism draws me to it. So I've managed to put together four Black outfits that I really liked.
In general, work outfits really depend on the company‘s work culture. Some companies prefer their workers to look polished from top to bottom and other companies lie on the more casual end. Most companies these days lie smack dab in the middle - "business casual".
Here's my take on what "business casual" means. In reality, I intend to dress a bit more casual than what I'm posting today, a lot depends on the weather & my mood. But...here are the outfits I’ve put together for days where I’m feeling dressy.
Outfit 1: Light-colored, flowy shirt with Black work pants, complimented with Gold Accents

Outfit 2: Boxy Black Shirt with Black Tapered Pants

Outfit 3: Black Slip Dress with a Scoop-neck fitted Cardigan

Outfit 4: Black Slip Dress with a Turtleneck Top
